Aims/Objectives Built
on mutual respect we aim to shape our training within an open, supporting
and friendly atmosphere. That
means on one hand practising co-ordination, balance and movement. On the
other hand we learn and improve upon our sensual and conflict-solving
skills.
Together we not only try to teach our bodies but also develop our
personalities. This is – as we believe – the only way to preserve the
peaceful character of Aikido.
Aikido is non-competitive and does appeal to a wide range of people.
Practising is suitable for people up to pensioner’s age, from both
genders and with various levels of physical ability.
The Training consists of the use of traditional weapons (staff and sword)
and empty-handed techniques. Studying the basics and application of techniques/principles
of each complements the other.
If that has made you curious, you are at least 16 years old and own an
old t-shirt and shorts, then that’s all you need to come along and try.
